Why setup matters

The foundation decides everything that comes after

A proper setup takes about the same time as a rushed one and saves months of trouble. These are the problems we fix most on sites that were set up in a hurry.

01

Forms that never send

WordPress mail without SMTP, so contact forms submit but nothing arrives.

02

Wrong PHP and limits

Old PHP versions and tight memory limits that slow the site and break plugins.

03

Leftover demo content

Bundled plugins and demo pages that nobody removed after install.

04

No staging

Every change tested on the live site because there is nowhere else to test.

05

Migrations gone wrong

Downtime during a host move, broken links, and URLs that lost their rankings.

06

Mixed content and SSL

Padlock warnings and insecure content after switching to HTTPS.

What's included

Set up right, or moved without a scratch

For new sites we install cleanly, configure hosting for your plugins and traffic, and apply security defaults from day one. For moves, we test the site on the new host before DNS changes, and keep the old host live until everything is confirmed.

Moving hosts yourself? Our guide to migrating WordPress without downtime covers the method we use.

✓  Clean install: no bundled bloat or leftover demo content ✓  Hosting configuration: PHP version, limits, caching, and a staging environment ✓  Essential plugins: chosen deliberately and kept to a minimum ✓  Security defaults: applied at setup, not bolted on afterwards ✓  Email and SSL: configured and delivery-tested before handover ✓  Migration and handover: no downtime, no lost URLs, full access and credentials
When you need this

Sound familiar?

You are starting a new site and want the foundation right.

You are changing hosts and cannot afford downtime or lost rankings.

Whoever set it up before left it messy, insecure, or undocumented.

Your forms do not send email and nobody knows why.

How it works

Setup or migration in four steps

Setup usually takes 1 to 2 days. Most migrations are completed in 24 to 48 hours.

1

Plan

We check hosting, plugins, email, and domain setup, and agree a fixed price.

2

Build or copy

A clean install, or a full copy of your site on the new host.

3

Test before switching

Pages, forms, email, and checkout are tested on the new setup before DNS changes.

4

Go live and hand over

DNS switches, we verify everything, and you get full access and credentials.

Honest limits

Some moves are bigger than they look

A host move keeps your URLs, so rankings are rarely at risk. A domain change or a platform change is different: most URLs change and every one needs a redirect.

If your move is one of those, we scope it as a migration project and follow the checklist in our guide to keeping rankings through a relaunch.

For agencies

White label setup and migrations

Hand us your clients' new installs and host migrations. We do the work on staging and write the handover under your brand and under NDA, so the client relationship stays yours.

Common questions

WordPress setup and migration questions

Straight answers before you commit to anything.

Will my site go down during a migration?

Not when it is done properly. We copy the site to the new host, test it there on a temporary address, and only switch DNS once everything works. The old host stays live until the change has fully spread, so visitors always reach a working site.

How long does a WordPress migration take?

Most migrations are completed in 24 to 48 hours. The file transfer depends on site size, and DNS changes can take up to 48 hours to spread, though lowering the TTL beforehand shortens that considerably. We plan the switch for a low-traffic window so almost nobody notices.

Will changing hosts affect my SEO?

Usually not. A host move keeps your URLs and content the same, so search engines see no meaningful change. The risks are downtime during the switch and a slower server afterwards, and both are what the testing step is there to prevent.

Why are my WordPress emails not arriving?

WordPress sends mail through the server by default, and many hosts either block it or send it without proper authentication, so it lands in spam or nowhere. Setting up SMTP with a proper sending service fixes it, and we test delivery before handover.

Do you provide hosting?

We do not resell hosting. We recommend a host that suits your traffic and budget, set it up correctly, and keep the account in your name, so you are never locked in to us. If you already have a good host, we simply work with it.

How much does WordPress setup or migration cost?

It depends on the size of the site, email and domain setup, and whether it is a host move or a domain change. You get one fixed price in writing before any work starts, and anything extra that comes up during the move is quoted before it is done.
